8th symposium at Circus Krone in Munich on individual horse training

At this year’s symposium held on 19 November at Circus Krone in Munich, circus director Jana Lacey-Krone and Anja Beran addressed the subject of individual horse training. From the perspective that “The horse indicates the way”, the two trainers demonstrated the horse-friendly way from remonte to haute école with fundamentally different horses.

The work with the horses was analysed and discussed from a veterinary point of view by veterinary specialist for chiropractic (A) Elisabeth Albescu. With some 1400 visitors, the 2017 symposium achieved a new record in visitor numbers.

The horses arrive a few days early in order to become accustomed to the circus atmosphere and the adjacent lions – this, however, has so far never been an issue. The days prior to the event are also used to familiarise horse and rider with the manège which measures only 12 metres in diameter. That is quite a big challenge!
