The Anja Beran Foundation library
“The library bridges the gap between theory and practice. Now it‘s possible to read about something up here in the library before going down into the riding school.“
Equestrianism between theory and practices
Since September 2015 there is a further attraction at Gut Rosenhof: A library full of illustrated publications, non-fiction and specialized books which cover all topics related to horses.
A library isn’t just a repository of knowledge – it is also a magical place of relaxation, creativity and intellectual refuelling. This is the approach that the Anja Beran Foundation has taken for riders, riding instructors and trainers as well as for all occupations associated with horses and anyone interested in equestrian matters.
At present the library is home to over 500 books on the topic of horses. There’s even interesting reading available for our international guests; the library offers equestrian books in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Czech.
The new Foundation library has a desire which had been close to her heart for a long time: “Classical riding doesn‘t only take place on the horse. A good rider requires comprehensive knowledge – for example of biomechanical connections om the knowledge of old equestrian masters”.
The library is also to play a role in reviving interest and rectifying the lack of knowledge in modern times. The acquisition of sub-stantiated knowledge is a form of active, practical animal welfare – and for Anja Beran a basic prerequisite for the ability to gym-nasticise and develop a horse according to a sensible and well-thought-out concept.
“Read to ride!”
“The knowledge of old equestrian masters is slowly but surely being lost. With our libra-ry we would like to inspire people to read about this knowledge, to live it and thus preserve it”.
