Gut Rosenhof sinks in deep snow, temperature is wintry and cold outside. Inside, in the well-heated library, Anja Beran is presenting a very fitting topic at the second dressage salon this winter season: warming-up horses correctly – how do I start the riding unit?
Even this dressage salon was booked out in a little while, so 25 participants eagerly listened to Anja Beran’s experiences, what happens if one does not take it too seriously when warming-up the horses. What do I achieve with proper warm-up and which exercises are suitable from the ground and which under the saddle? Anja Beran explains in detail the various possibilities to work my horse before I start with dressage training. In the small group, participants can address their questions about warm-up and get valuable tips from Anja Beran.
After this theoretical part, practical demonstrations follow in the riding hall, where Anja Beran and Vera Munderloh show the warming-up with three horses. Purebred-arabian stallion WM Malakil, owned by state stud Marbach, starts Vera Munderloh with work in hand, the tall Riveiro II son Rüdiger from main and state stud Schwaiganger shows how lungework – suitable for his specific needs – works. And finally, Vera Munderloh rides the Lusitano gelding Bue in all movements that provide suppleness and straightness as part of his natural crookedness.
